Paul Moak is

A 5 time Grammy-nominated, ASCAP award winning, producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, and musician based in Nashville, TN.

With this multi-faceted approach, Paul has amassed credits on more than 800 albums, spanning a wide variety of genres. This impressive roster of artists includes: Heart, Dolly Parton, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Joy Williams, Mat Kearney, Imelda May, Sam Williams, Lovedrug, The Weeks, John Paul White, Hilary Duff, Avi Kaplan, Ashley Monroe, Marc Broussard, Caitlyn Smith, Liz Longley, Gabe Dixon, Relient K, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Martha Wainwright, Trent Dabbs, Madi Diaz, House of Heroes, Matt Maher, Imelda May, Sarah Brightman, Third Day, Michael W Smith, Jars of Clay, Chris Renzema, Goodbye June, Bones Owens, Carolina Story, and Matthew Mayfield to name a few.

Paul is a member of the 2019 Class of Leadership Music and has also served on the board of the NARAS Nashville P&E Wing  as well as The Grammy Producer Craft Committee and Grammy Advocacy Committee. 

Paul’s work has appeared on numerous platinum and gold albums exceeding 10 million in sales as well as several Billboard Top 10’s and has been featured on hit TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy,  Nashville, One Tree Hill, Private Practice, Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries and 666 Park Avenue as well as tv spots for the NFL, Nascar, Wrestlemania, ESPN College Game Day, Madden 17,  Budweiser, Bose, American Family Insurance, and Taco Bell. in 2010, Paul even had a song played by the NASA crew aboard the International Space Station.

In 2023 Paul accepted the invitation to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band HEART.  They have since been touring to bring all of the greatest HEART songs to fans all over the world. 

As a live musician Paul has toured with many artists including Heart, Ann Wilson, Michael W Smith, DC Talk, Richard Marx, Mat Kearney, Plumb, and many others.  He has played on the Tonight Show twice, both with Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon as hosts, as well as CBS Saturday mornings, the Today Show, Howard Stern, XM radio, and even 3 Billy Graham crusades.  Paul has toured in 5 continents and all 50 states, bringing music to millions of people over his career. 

The Smoakstack is Paul Moak’s personal recording studio, established in 2004, and in 2009 moved to its current location in the heart of Berry Hill, Nashville, TN.  Over 3000sq feet, The Smoakstack is a large multi-room facility filled with Paul’s lifelong collection of instruments and recording equipment. Alongside Paul’s productions, the Smoakstack has gained a reputation all its own and has been used by Band of Skulls, Avicii, Kelly Clarkson, Ann Wilson, The Indigo Girls, Brett Eldredge, Ellie Goulding, The Cold War Kids, All Sons and Daughters, Landon Pigg, Lucy Dacus, Ben Rector, Audrey Assad, Toby Keith, Building 429, Hailey Witters, as well as companies like JHS Pedals, Lacie, Sony Music, EMI, Atlantic Records, and more. 

Since 2022 Paul has been featured in the Grammy Museum in Cleveland Mississippi in a kiosk of notable musicians from Mississippi. 

When Paul is not in the studio or on stage you might spot him around town on his vintage motorcycles, or out and about with his wife and twin daughter and son.
